If you visit us at First Baptist Church one of the first things you will notice is that we are a community of many ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, talents and interests. Yet we strive to be one in our love for God and love for one another. Our mission as a church is to provide opportunities for "Life changing encounters with Jesus Christ." First Baptist is located in Worthington, a town of about 12,000 in Southwest Minnesota. Our community would be considered agricultural and much of the business community centers around farm related industry. Worthington is also known for being one of the most ethnically diverse communities in Minnesota.
We try to maintain diversity and balance in our worship services but lean towards the contemporary. Our average Sunday morning attendance is 250. First Baptist Church has a history of strong children's ministry including: Awana, Sunday School, Children's Church and Vacation Bible School.
